Timetable
Services by both operators on the whole Heart of Wessex route, which includes our area, are set out in GWR Timetable B10

Most of the train services along the approximately 45 miles of our line are operated by Great Western Railway (GWR). They operate the services on the Heart of Wessex Line, which travels from Bristol Temple Meads to Weymouth, the south west of england. The part of the Heart of Wessex Line we care for runs through the old kingdom of the West Saxons, the ancient name of Wessex not heard again for centuries until poet and author Thomas Hardy recreated it as his “dream country”. It first passes through the cider orchards and distant honey coloured spires of Somerset. It then weaves through the heart of Hardy Country, traversing the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, before sweeping over the South Dorset Downs to the World Heritage Jurassic Coast at Weymouth.

South Western Railway (SWR) runs services
-
- from Weymouth through Upwey to London Waterloo
- on the Heart of Wessex Line from Yeovil Junction on the Salisbury to Exeter Line to the north through Yeovil Pen Mill
